Blown head gasket and broken lifter
check this out........seems like a very suttle gasket leak leak???
also found a lifter with a broken retainer on the push rod pocket......hmmmmm opinions on damage? thanks

also had water/sludge in the #7 intake port and intake plenum.....

no........ #3 intake
the pushrod was still seated properly eve tho the retainer was broken...found it when i pulled the pushrods.....the plunger came out and fell next to the lifter bore..

more bad news......decided to pull the other head......#6 cylinder
How long could I get by running with this crack???

Cam to big causing the Rich-carbon appearance?

Cracks in cylinder walls usually aren't the precise. Looks more like a ring or contamination cut. Most HD operation or lots of miles results in cylinder scratches.

I thought it was odd being that uniform......I can feel it with a fingernail....was not having an issue with that cylinder...hard to tell a scratch from a crack...

Have to agree A crack usually will be odd looking like above that is a perfect line, meaning something got caught in the ring? what made u decide to pull the one head car running different? Looks like a good reason for the KRE's now!

water in the #7 cylinder......see head gasket photo's.....small burn in gasket at the #7 cylinder.........damn thing was still running great other than losing a gallon of water everytime I ran it!!

Sorry guys but ive got to ask something please, look at his water jacket holes, don,t they all look about clogged?? Maybe overheating caused this problem. Motor run hot?? Motor ever flushed out prior to this>>?? Look at third picture on top of page??

the water jacket holes are not bad at all......cast iron....always looks worse than it really is......especially when it dries up

Once water cuts a path it likes,it'll find that same path again unless something is done to significantly change that situation. Water is one of natures strongest forces,just look @ the grand canyon.
