Default Can Am Sales Literature?

Did Pontiac print any sales bulletins that discuss the Can Am package?

I've seen the typical sales slick that outlines the package and 1977 service bulletin that discusses replacement components and decals, but did Pontiac print any other bulletins about the WW3 package?

There was the Can Am dealer literature titled, "Pontiac Can AM, New Excitement for LeMans", in addition to the one pager titled, "Pontiac Can AM, Created in the Trans Am Tradition."

Thanks for sharing. I've seen that one.

I have the letter from Pontiac you sent to me outlining final production numbers. Have you ever found any sales bulletins or letters to dealers that discuss ordering updates or restrictions?

There had to be some communication with the dealership sales departments beyond the basic literature we're familiar with. Would you agree?

The only one I have is the one I shared a few months ago. I am always on the lookout for info like that. It does pop up from time to time. Too bad Verne Howard is so reclusive as of late. He might have something.

As of late? He's been reclusive for at least 15 years.

I wish someone would take over the Can Am Registry. More involvement and get it up dated would be great!

I've offered to do it, as have others...it's all fallen on deaf ears.

He did a lot for both of the 30th year Can Am reunions, but hasn't been heard of much since that.

If anyone has a 1977 service bulletin notebook, take a look in there. Sometimes announcements are done via service bulletins, P&A Extras, Service Craftsman News or other GM publications.

Horst, I've checked all the sources I have available (Service Bulletins, Car Dist Bulletins, Sales Info Bulletins, Craftsman News, and Dealer Album) and have found anything beyond what's already known about today.

I was looking for something more like internal documents or something found outside the normal sources.

It sounds like the search goes on!

The 1977 Pontiac Order Guide Update dated Feb 1, 1977 states that along with several other updates, Can Am production was scheduled to begin on Feb 21.

Has any bulletins surfaced announcing to dealers that the Can Am package had been officially cancelled? How about the excess T/A 6.6-powered '77 LeMans Sport inventory?

The single sheet brochure in pics above was given out at the '77 Chicago Auto Show. [I have one] The Can Am on the show floor was locked, though :=(

Thanks Alvin. That's the letter that 77canamman shared with me a while back. Do you have any others? Such as one to dealer sales staff that denotes the cancellation of the package?

Rocky, I don't think that that I have what you are looking for...but I will keep looking in my Poncho Chest. I am sure that most info I have is from here - PY - ABody - & Can Am Reg...so you never know what may pop up.
