Default V BELTS

Does anybody sell non-cog belts for the alt.,p/s,and air for the 1963/1964/1965 large cars.Which is correct for that time frame, wrapped or cut belts ? Quanta sells the wrapped belts, which maybe good for non driven cars. but what about the rest? Thanks Guys!

I've bought them recently at NAPA or Carquest.

Default V BELTS

No regular v belts sold at N.A.P.A. All cog belts, and the search goes on

I know that Ames had them. P/Y probably has them too.

John,

Out of curiosity....are there any problems or issues with the cog belts, or do you not want this type due to lack of originality?

stevep the ones that PY and Ames are the belts made by Quanta, and they are wrapped belts. Vince im looking to keep the orginal look , and still drive the car without breaking a belt. As i said before the Quanta belts are great for show cars.

8LUG, can you post pics of the different types (wrapped, cog, v, etc.)?

Besides my wanting to see what is meant by a 'wrapped' belt, I think it would be helpful for people searching in the future.

Yeah, I know what a cogged belt looks like but I'm not sure what a wrapped one is.

It's been a while, but as I recall the belt in my car came from the local auto parts store; it doesn't have the GM part numbers on it or anything but otherwise it looks original.

My camera isn't the greatest but here goes. The wrapped belt is the rubber wrapped around the entire belt as the name implies. the cut belt shows the cords of the belt on the sides. Checked out Carquest no luck in V belts. cog belts have notches either on the to top or bottom of the belt, (no picture) .
