My Well just died!
I have no water pressure at all. The well won't come on. I have power to the pressure switch/points.
What do I need to check? I have redone the connections and cleaned the points with no luck.

You can test if it's the switch by using a jumper wire to jump the contacts. If the pump starts to build pressure then you know it's the switch. If jumping the switch doesn't work then check the fuses to the pump. If they are blown then ohm out the pump. If your pump windings are open, shorted or grounded then it's pump replacement time.

That's happened to us twice in 7 yrs, had to replace the control box that goes inside the well. Ours uses a 1 HP control box, they cost about $50 at Lowes and I did the job start to finish in less than an hour.

Another thing that does happen and is worth checking if you have to pull the pump is that the wire wears through. Many times it rubs against the side of the well post casing and with continuous pulsing & vibrating, just wears through one line on the cable.
My first guess would be pressure switch, but check wire if you have to pull. Also check the nipple going to the pressure switch for clogging. You can pull it yourself if you make a galvanized 'T' handle if there is a pitless style fitting on it. You can get a helper and stretch the pipe out over a long distance or coil up around the well head, using the 'memory' of the plastic pipe. I know one person who adapted an upside down wheelbarrow less tire and is able to pull pump with just one person. I have done this many times with 100-300' deep wells. It ain't fun, but it is satisfying to fix. Oh yeah, and check the breaker.

Long story short, I had company coming in at lunchtime today and I had to be to work at 8am so I called the man that installed the well. He was here at 7:15 and at 7:45 we had water again.
Just like 63Pontiac said, it was the control box that was the culprit. The start capacitor had gone bad. The wellman checked everything else and said we were good to go. Cost was less than $200.00 and it was worth every penny to me. Thanks to all for the advice.
