Question Why bother...........

Hunter on car balancer.

"8 lug balancing made easy": select one of your rear brake drums, mount it on a modern electronic balancing machine, use the secured drum as a mount for each of the five wheel/tire units, balance the units using stick on weights-taping them for security, and then enjoy smooth running all the way to top speed .

Shout out to the Detroiters on the board: does anyone in the tri-county area have a good shop for truing the rims and then mounting and balancing 8-lugs?

That's how I did mine. I brought a rear drum to the tire place and the young guys thought I was nuts. I had to explain it to the owner. He walked me out to the shop and said "Do it." He even suggested we check the drum for balance first so we did. It was fine and worked great.
