I have a 68 ragtop that is getting close. Should I paint the fenders on or off the car, I already jambed everything, If I mount the fenders and then paint will I be able to remount the chrome strip at the rear top edge of the fender near the cowl / door area ? Thanks

Depends on the color. If it is a solid color like black you could paint off the car and then install. Just have to be extra carefull when installing. Tape edges etc. If it is a metallic or pearl etc. I would spray on the car for uniform finish. small changes in air pressure paint mixing etc can show up if sprayed at different times and if the panels are not sprayed as they mount to the vehicle. Not sure about your trim piece maybe someone else will chime in. Post some pictures I would love to see the car!!

I paint cars dismantled all the time its not that big of a deal. Some colors like it was said will make some difference. If your painting skills are steady it wont make any difference.
