Yet another steel 69 T/A hood manufacturer ?
Am I missing something here ? This guy is selling all steel 1969 Trans Am hoods for less than half of the parts place hood. Is this the very same hood ? His ad says it's from dynacorn, I go on the dynacorn website and just can't find it. Maybe this one doesn't have "scoops", I asked him but did not get an answer yet. Frank.

The Parts Place had the rights to be the only one selling 69 T/A hoods made by dynocorn for awhile. Their rights have now run out.
These do not come with the scoop inserts. The inserts that the parts place sold with these hoods are the same inserts they were selling before these hoods came out years ago. |

John, can't find the thread but I believe you are making 69 Trans Am scoops, right ? IFRC they fit better than original, at least on an original hood. Would they fit nicely on one of those repro hoods ? What price range are they ?

Yes, I make the best fitting 69 T/A hood scoop inserts for a factory hood.$500 a pair. I have not made any to fit the dynocorn hood. I am sure mine will work way better that the other inserts that are offered. I can make some to fit the dynocorn hoods if someone wants to bring me one of these hoods and pay $500 for a pair.

They are injection molded, using fine chopped fiberglass and some type of resin.

69TA hood
There is a company in Scottsdale, AZ, restoration something or other, that has a quality steel ta hood for under 500, delivered to their store. Not only the best price I've found, but truly steel and accurate. Yes functional ra scoops are additional but the hood is accurate.

what about the latch area? wasnt there an issue about that??? used a 67 style instead of a 69 or something like that.

The latch area appeared to be correct. I was surprised that it was steel and not fiberglass.
