Hi all, have a 79 TATA that I'm bring back to life. Sat for a number of years but is running great now. Before I parked it I experimented with the 200-4r conversion. Turns out I bought a bad trans so I put my original turbo 350 in. Now I cannot tell if I swapped the original Dipstick back into it. Obviously the cars will have different length tubes, but if I subtract the length of the tube by the length of the stick that should tell me the correct distance it should sit into the tranny. Does anyone have this number?

Do you have both sticks? If so, fill the trans based on the shorter stick. Now loosen the pan enough to let fluid just "drizzle" out. When the drizzling stops, the trans is full.
