I won my class today PSN 2011(Ram Air)
First time ever won any race. Runner upped before Semi finalist but no win till today albeigh more on my luck or than my skill not to redlight..Low turnout at PSN 2011 @ Texas Motorplex in Ennis today, disapointing. Basicly hung in there and my competotors broke and redlighted all the way to my victory! Well clutch slipped on every run in low gear till it caught up to the speed of the car at 5000 in low gear eventually frying in second gear too. TOO MUCH TORQUE! Shifting about 5100 and no power to the ground in low gear and sickly 60's in the 2.1-2.3 range. best ET 13.2 , best speed 109mph. Not bad for a completely stock fuel system! . I had fun jamming gears today..been 16 years since I did that! I only expected stock clutch to survive one day at the races and I had more passes than planned eventually slipping all the way thru first and second gear by the end. Now do i throw in a automatc swap.. or fix it under Oreilly Auto warranty but dont race it and get the GTO back togeher as a 400 HO??? Well GTO gets running first. Formula needs a driver front floor pan anyway.

3000+ DA puts my 109 mph maybe up to 113 with nothing put down in low gear..mmm

Congrats Larry! Dang it, how did I miss seeing with you? I left shortly before it was over. It was freakin' hot! I was all day in the sun at the car show the day before. I made three passes Sunday but this $^%* Holley carb started sticking badly so I quit running for the day. Again congrats and sorry I missed the end.
