I have run across a ram air 3 - 400 in pieces. 1969. Includes block,heads, crank, intake man, valley pan. What is it worth? Also he has a 67 400 HO motor in pieces complete as well. He is asking $1k for it. Is this fair.? I am in need of a gto engine for a 68 lemans project- near Cleveland Ohio

Is this standard bore? Have the block, crankshaft and cylinder heads been cleaned and magged? Block code? Cylinder head number? If this indeed a good, rebuildable Ram Air III long block assembly it's probably worth 1K to the right guy. If it hasn't been machine shop inspected and comes with the corresponding reciept no way would i pay anything more than scrap price, there is a LOT of overpriced junk out there for sale.

Are you sure they are RA III and HO engine's ? What are the block code's and what heads are included ? If they are the right code's than $1000.00 is great find in my opinion.Let us know what you find out.....

Thanks guys.... Are there published codes I can print and verify the pieces? Would you suggest that I have this stuff tested on my dime? It's been sitting for 15 years in a dry garage.

Ive got some advice....if you dont even know the codes and the guy wants you to have the stuff magged on your dime...dont mess with it..youre in territory ya dont need to be. How would you handle spending 2 grand and its all run of the mill big car stuff...either that or educate yourself..i dont think anyone here would lead you wrong...but you have no experience in this..there a lot of guys out there with WRONG motor stuff because the guy said it was one thing and it wasnt...expensive lesson...
