Default should I sell my 64 F-85 4dr?

I have tentatively got the car sold for a measily 1,200 bucks ):
It's very solid and runs good, I've owned it for over a year.

The guy is suppose to come Sunday to look it over, but he informed me yesterday that he just wants the frame to restore his 64' 442. (I didn't think the frames were the same)

Anyway, just don't think the cars a parts car, I drive it every now and again and it runs good and looks pretty good. Real survivor car, but it's a 4dr. F-85 Standard with no options but a radio.

Really having second thoughts on selling it to this guy. I think the car deserves a good owner who just wants a cheap part time driver. However, I have too many cars and could use the extra dough to put towards paint on my 72' 442.

So what do you guys think? Sell it anyway or move on to the next buyer?

Sell it.

Keep the car! Or find someone who will enjoy it, not slaughter it. Too many classics have been scrapped over the years for no real good reason. If it was a rusty bucket of bolts, I'd say no big deal. But a running, driving decent old car is getting harder and harder to come by. Even if it is an Oldsmobuick

If that 4-door frame can save a 442 then it's worth it.

If you want to expedite the sale then do it.

Don't do it. Fixing a 442 is a good thing. Dismantling a perfectly good 4 door to do it seems counterproductive to the hobby. BTW, you almost never see 4 door F85 cars, or really any 4 door A body. When I had my 4 door 67 Lemans, I was always getting requests for it for street scenese for movies depicting the lates '60's early '70's.
If you really need the money, let me see some pics. I'll buy it and won't bone it out.

The 2-door and 4-door frames are different, BUT the '64 4-4-2 did come as a four-door model. Olds ads at the time showed it as a police car. They're even rarer than the 2-door models.

Bob, I think your talking about the 68-72 series, which were 112" wheelbase on 2-doors but 116" on four-doors, wagons, El Caminos and the stretched-nose Monte Carlo. (69-72 GP were a special 118")

I believe the 64-67 cars were all 115" wheelbase, only difference would be a boxed frame for convertibles or heavy-duty applications.
