I am looking at dying my interior from poop brown to black. The bench in front has vinyl backing and fabric the rest of the way around. I would prefer to use something I can buy at a local store, but will order vinyl paint and fabric dye if need be.

I am concerned with the dye bleeding as I have never dyed seats before.

Any input would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I used SEM Dye spray cans too on my 78 TA...was very impressed. I used it for both the velour seats and the console..kick panels...and some other interior trim...has held up pretty nice. If I recall correctly I had to order the SEM Dye from a local store.

Will the spray cans work on the fabric seats? They aren't all vinyl.

key to good coverage on fabric is to work it in with a old clean toothbrush or something a little bigger.

Sounds good. I'll order some dye and use some nylon brushes.

make sure its a short bristle brush so it gets worked in real good.

SEM dye is the way to go. Use an adheasion promoter on the hard plastic stuff so you get a good bond between the dye and plastic. I just did my 78 TA's original red dash and kick panels with SEM landau black and it looks awsome. You can buy it in spray cans or by the quart and spray it with a mini gun.
