Default Summit Racing's Scott Esterle

I wanted to give some credit where credit is due. Scott went over and above what was required in a recent camshaft break-in issue. The parts were purchased some time ago and fell well outside Summit's warranty period but Scott stepped up and honoured the quality of the parts by offering a replacement.

The whole case was isolated and have never had problems with Summit brand parts before and feel that having a Pontiac guy that works at Summit provides us with a very high level of customer service. He corrected the problem so I can continue to be a Summit customer and will be doing so for a long time to come. I would also like to publicly thank him for taking the time to resolve this matter for me and doing so in such a timely fashion.

Bravo Scott!

Brent

Default Summit/JEGS

I wish I would have spoke with Scott when I attempted to place my order yesterday... The representative I spoke with would not match the lower price on an item I found on another website because it didn't show a shipping price, he said he needed to see it in writing, A verbal was not good enough. I have been a longtime customer of Summit but this prompted me to call JEGS who honored the lower price without question. It's not like I was placing a $25 order, my total for yesterday's purchase was just about $500. Not sure why any corporation would want to lose a 15 year customer over $75 during these difficult economic times? Looks like Summit just lost a customer and JEGS gained one. Thanks.

1bad69,

Their policy is:

Beat-a-Price Guarantee:
We're confident our prices are the lowest. We're so confident, we offer the Beat-a-Price guarantee: We’ll beat any advertised price on an in-stock product, with proof of the advertised price, if the part is in stock at the advertised location. Advertised price includes shipping/handling/any other “to the door” costs. Call 1-800-230-3030 and speak with a salesperson to help complete your order. This policy does not apply to typographical errors, products in an online auction, refurbished or used products from a second-hand seller, or a competitor’s price that results from a price match. If the product meets the above criteria, the competitor's price will be beat. Guaranteed!

Summit needs shipping to be included as someone like RockAuto sells parts for a little less but rakes you over the coals for shipping. This is kind of like ebay where you get a DVD for $3 but pay $12 for shipping as the whole price has to be factored. Actually, my buddy always brags about getting movies for $3 but fails to mention the total price he paid including the ride.

Either way thanks for posting and hope you continue being a Summit customer as the sales rep. was just following their written policy.

Cheers
