Hello, PY users, New to the sight, I am the owner of the 71 gto judge that recently did not sell on Ebay, During the listing I was informed by one of your members that my car may be a rare option code WT7 black wing car, Very interesting to know. I would like to start by thanking everyone for the input. I always wished I could learn more about the car and how many where built like it , colors etc. I wish I could somehow contact the original owner, to really put things right, I know that he owned a service station in Tawas michigan, Known as Clydes Standard service station,, east tawas michigan. I assume this because I was told he owned a service station, and the car came with a extra set of keys with Clydes service station on the key chain with the address. He sold the car because his busness went under. Thanks for your help and in depth discusion about the car its been a real help

Welcome to the Forum and congrats on a great looking car. You did a terrific job with the restoration. You and I spoke not long after you bought the car; you bought a reproduction ram air breather I had for sale on eBay.
Hope you can track down the original owner -it would be cool to have his perspective on the car's history - especially that paint job! BJ

Welcome aboard! Your car is very nice and does have nice documentation. OO stuff is always a bonus. Neat to know the WT7 option came from a Michigan Judge.
I was alerted via email by the keen eye of another 71 WT7 owner with Canadian documentation. He called to my attention the theory of the "Pontiac" build sheet clues on your car. That's why I started the thread as I felt someone here could verify with the knowledge base in this forum. I wasn't the one who alerted you, but I do hope it makes your car cooler with more history than before....

Welcome to the PY Forum, 1 B D.
Glad you could join us. Your Judge is a great specimen of WT7 heritage. Its gotten me more interested in 71's. Learned that 14" wheels were 71 Judge standard - where i had 'thunk' 15" was for 71. The other buildsheet posted by J273 had JT rally's 14". Maybe someone will be familiar with the area the car came from and have some more info for you. Good number of Michigan members on here. On another note, if anyone has a dealer sales order sheet or similar criteria ... what else could code #572 be - besides a luggage rack ? |

I just wish the clear photos were, well, clear. I had better luck trying to read thru the glare.

LoL.... yeh i noticed the same thing.
Been using the plastic wrap example because it magnifies better. 1 B D - any chance you could scan your buildsheet in a scanner ? Luggage racks only available on big wagons and little wagons. So far .... it appears 57-2 / 572 is the actual rear spoiler (D80) itself. Its not listed for GTO in sales order or options list, since it wasn't a factory available option on GTO or Lemans. But 572 is listed as D80 rear spoiler for Firebird. And 'some' of the few buildsheets i still have access to are Judges, and some have the D80 spoiler listed in bottom ledger breakout. Just deductive reasoning for now. ...... to be continued ....... a couple // few more 70-71 Pont Mich Judge sheets would be nice HELLO OUT THERE !

I am also the owner of a 71 WT7 car .I do have both the Canadian and the PHS for my car . I have not touched the car other than move it since I purchased it back in the 90s. I did not think that there would be this many that would be still around of the 15 that were built .I have not looked for the build sheet for this car yet and was wondering where they were found mostly in Pontiac built cars. If I can find it I will post it to compare to the others .

I think both the Pont Mich 71 Judge sheets in the other thread, were both found on top of the gas tanks. Good luck to you and hope you get yours.
Believe we have at least 4 of the 15 owned by members on this Forum. |

Ha !
found another 71 Pont Mich Judge buildsheet. ![]() ![]() ![]() Did some Googles. Found this other one on Yenko site. Its the Black with White interior Auto that was well kept unrestored, and had crazy Green decal package put on it in 75. Some will remember it i'm sure. It sold for around 60k in 07. It has some more pix. One might be helpful about seatbelts/buckles. Black car shows no custom/deluxe belts on sheet. 452 is custom front rear shoulder. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=257957&page=1 Anyway - it has 572 on the sheet also (or a 2 in column 57). So that is the Spoiler. And 601 on the sheet (1 in column 60) {non-604 // WT7 car}. Case closed on 1BD's WT7 Judge. Its a WT7. Still be great to see BirdsAndGoats sheet if you can find it. This one from the Black car looks like it came from the floorboard. Things i'm still interested in is the PNT STR box directly under column 67, and DECAL box directly under column 68. I think the PNT STR box is actually the Judge Decal Package color code - on Judges. 1BD's has an A. The other 2 both have an E. I think default stripe color was the Pinky Blues, on Black and Silver cars - and Non WT7 Whites. Maybe with some more sheets we can nail that detail down too. The DECAL box i think might be something like for one of the info decals. idunno yet - but all 3 are different in that box. WT7 =R, Silver =A, Black =C They all have the same engine label (N). They all have the same tire pressure label (KJ) But they all 3 have diffy wheels is only general variation amongst all 3 i've found so far. heckifino |

Another thought on the decal box.
Might be the spoiler ends decals. Silver Car = A = Black Black Car = C = White WT7 Car = R = Red chew on that shyt mofo's

Once again thanks so much for all the help,, Another interesting question raised, 452- frnt and rear shoulder harness??, When I removed the original rear package tray it had significant imprints on both sides, just foward of the speaker areas, With substantial bolt holes. My first thought was that someone but some kind of harness in. but the threaded holes looked factory, I asked so many people and they all said they never heard of rear shoulder harness in such a car, Could or should this car have come with some kind of retractors up on the package tray??

If I knew better how to do things here I could post some cool photos of the car back in the day, It had a quadropfonic 8-track in th glove compartment and jacks for headphones for both driver and passenger with seporate volumn controls velcroed on the console, I would love to meet the guy who did that stuff!

Thanks B&G fpr joining the topic. Give him the credit for the discovery. Great to have 2 documented WT7 owners for the 71 out of 15.
B&G maybe some pix or docs? Did JM ever get back?? BVZ, if they know 15 exists why not disclose vins or they don't remember how they know? 1BD send photos to me and I will post. email [email protected]

There's a post with pics of the production numbers for different options, engines, models etc. It showed 15 WT7 made in 1971. Also listed how many 455HO engines made, etc

J273 this is info pulled from one of the threads i did about 1970 WT7 cars.
And some 71 info came to light as well. Eric White said- "I have the Final '71 Production listings for the factory installed options and accessories. The 1971 document states that 15 (4.0%) WT7 604 --Flat Black Air Foil & Black Judge Stripes--Lemans 4200 with Judge Option were built. ... This document was dated August 23, 1971." So he/they don't have VIN specific info. PHS won't have ANYTHING to be able to deal with it - even if they wanted to. Since it was No-Cost and all they have are Invoices. Then CDN2PLS2 said- "I got the numbers from Fred, and I know at least two '71z were sold here." and "I only have docs on the two '71 WT7z so far. The first one has Sienna and a 3SPD!HoodTach and AM/FM. The second has Black ,TH400,and Loaded, also with a HoodTach. Not sure if I have any docs on '70 WT7z,I don't think so." and "Those two cars were built five vins apart,so maybe they were built in a batch." and "Doesn't show build date, but both shipped from Pontiac in January. One sold in Calgary,Zone other in Montreal Zone." Then B & G said- "It was said earlier in this thread that only two 71 WT7 cars were shipped to Canada but mine has a blue interior so it must be the third. 1. Would be good to know when 1 B D's car was built. I couldn't read anything on the trim tag pic. 2. Would be good to know when B & G's car was built - and if it was built in Pont Mich. 3. I / We / Us need samples of the 2 that Mark has papers on. 4. We need some more 71 Pont Mich Judge B.sheets ! |
