Default Interesting Website

I wanted to make you guys aware of an auto hobbyist reference library and research center for all US brands, makes, and models. It is a free service, merely requiring you to join up in the same fashion as this forum. Here are some samples of what we have collected for Pontiacs.

Pontiac Block ID Numbers and where located (illustrations)

Pontiac Engine Usage Codes and where located (illustrations)

Pontiac Factory Camshafts - part numbers and duration, etc

Pontiac Intake Manifold Casting Numbers and where located (illustrations)

Pontiac Cylinder Head Casting Numbers and where located (illustrations)

Paper Chase Articles - About Factory Produced Reference Materials

Collecting Part 1, Selling the Sizzle: The Paper Chase, 1964-1974

Collecting Part 2, The Showroom: The Paper Chase, 1964-1974

Collecting Part 3, Fixing the Ouches: The Paper Chase, 1964-1974

Pontiac Road Tests from Period Magazines - over 100 : 1956-1970

Product Descriptions and Key Specs - High Performance Cars 1964 thru 1971

Factory Service and other Bulletins

Factory Press Release Photos 1965 thru 1977

Factory Brochures 1961 thru 1970

Factory Ads 1955 thru 1971

This comprises over 600 downloadable documents which are displayed in “as new condition”. The growth of the Pontiac materials has all happened in less than 6 months – and we project the content to DOUBLE by the end of the year.

We are adding new materials every day, not just for Pontiac, of course, but the entire collection already comprises over 3000 topics and over 30 thousand items! We welcome donations of materials in digital format – you can let us know what you may have by contacting us at [email protected]

Please go to www.wildaboutcars.com and register – it takes about 5 minutes. Remember to select Pontiac as your brand, when registering – this automatically filters the available material by brand, (though you can see all other brands with a mouse click). You will also receive a newsletter twice a month detailing feature articles and adds to the collection – plus tips on how to get the most out of the website. If you can help out with material or suggestions, don't hesitate to share and make this the best informational site on the web.

LOL, 2021 will be here before you know it! The older I get, the faster the years fly by.

I'm glad you guys like the site. We've been working hard all summer to get the Pontiac content built up. I've got a lot more to go. It might take me years to get all of my Pontiac stuff scanned and uploaded, then another few decades to get the rest of my American car stuff uploaded as well. That's if I dedicate 20 hours a day, every day, to the project.

I'm not complaining though. I've been thinking about this sort of online archive project for quite a while now. When I learned of WAC, I liked the rich content and the people running the site, so I joined up and jumped in with both feet.

If anyone here has any desire to help with this project, we are always looking for assistance in collecting material, serving as online experts, scanning literature, etc. We've already got a couple of PY members involved, the more the merrier.

Hey: I just wanted to thank everyone who visited Wild About Cars and signed up. You are a big boost to what we are trying to do and we really appreciate it. Eric could always use your help on the Pontiac brand, so if you have material or information we welcome it.

When you visit the site, check out our "Back in the day" Road Test section. we are loading cleaned up magazine articles of tests of the cars from 1954 through the early 70s. We've got about 100 loaded already and more to come. See http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/cgi-b...=9990378496440. Check it out.

Ric, how can I add the 'parking/headlights on together' upgrade to the site? Maybe some that are not on PY might like it too. Or, you can pull what you need from the Stickie thread in the 66/67 Tech section.

Thanks again for all who registered. As you may have noticed, we "feature" members' cars on the site and we'd love to do that for you guys. If you have a car we could use, e-mail me @ [email protected]. You can also post pictures of your car on your garage "wall". To see how this works, you can click on my screen name bigbadbob when I'm on line and "go to my garage". where you will see my photos.

We can add that article as a technical article in the Pontiac section. I will get the story off the sticky. Thanks for your contribution!

I have a lot of tech articles that I printed as a newsletter editor for my GTOAA chapter years ago. All I need to do is come up with some great photos to go with the stories.

Jeff, I can't scan ads, articles, brochures, Tech Bulletins and other folder fliers and stuff quick enough. Any help you and other members of the forum can lend would be so great. Let me know what you've got, and we'll make arrangements to get it on the web. Thanks for your offer of assistance.

Working with Bob to get the 67 GTO-Tempest Assembly Manual added to the website. We had a "glitch" show up on the previous upload, but found a "work around" this AM.

Charles and I talked today about 'the story' being added Bob. You've got a good Editor with him onboard. ;) :D Now that tech tip can get out to the other GM brands too.

I would like to suggest that you add Charles' (Old Goat's) story of he and his family's history with his '67. I remember reading it a couple of years ago on another site. He's owned his car since new, has pics of it from different time periods and stories about it, etc.
Charles, hook a brotha up with that story!
