I finally picked up a 67 Firebird 400 project car. I've been wanting one for a long time and found this through a friend of a friend. The car had been torn down, so I could spot most of the sheetmetal work needed, but after taking apart a few more pieces of the car, I found it needed more than I expected.
My question, or questions are, how far do I go in taking panels off the car without the car becoming structurely weak? It needs in the rear, new quarters, tail panel, inner and outer wheel housings, package tray, and a full trunk floor that includes up into the shock tower area. Which company offers the best fit?
I've haven't done this amount of sheetmetal work at one time, so another question is gonna be...what panel do I start with?
I'm new to this sight, so any advice or pics to help me out would be great. I plan on being here a long time as I tackle this car. I'll be posting up pics soon. Thanks!

Well, It's gettin colder, so I figured I'd pull the car into my shop and do some more investigating. I have been reading as much as I can on those of you who are doing restorations. The info you guys have been offering has been great. I'd like to get started on my car anyday now. My car seems to need quite a bit, so I'm prepared to invest some time.
I'd like to focus on the main shell of the car. Any recommendations on where to start? Meaning... Should I look to start on the cowl area, or start on the floors, or cut out a quarter, etc...? I ask cause, if there is a proven approach that works better, I'll get started accordingly.
Also, I'd like to post up pics in my thread as I go, but not sure how. Can anyone get me up to speed on this?

Some time searching the bodyshop and build forums over on camaros.net will likely tell you everything you need to know, including how to build a body jig because it sounds like you might need one.
