I found this on Craigs List. Went and looked at it, not right for me, and price is too high ...but it's there.
http://nwct.craigslist.org/cto/2713830782.html It's rougher than the pics. The pictures must have been taken a couple of years ago, the interior now has mold all over everything and smells bad...there was condensation all over the INSIDE of the windows... maybe someone left a window open. Front fender aren't bad ....left side mostly rust free but with a robust scrape down the side, right fender has more rust in the usual places but not bad. Frame is garbage, trunk lid has rust, hood might be tweaked, rear bumper is swiss cheese. Glass all looks good but is NOT tinted. Instrument panel has been butchered at the radio (missing). Glove box door looked good. No options of any merit or rarity that I saw. Remember, interior pics really are not indicative of the actual condition. Here are some better pics that the seller sent me. I'm not affiliated with the vehicle in any way, shape or form. Just posting in case someone needs it ....and the seller seemed like he might need the funds. Seller is handicapped and communication is spotty ....often doesn't respond to emails. I could provide a phone number if someone is really serious and can't contact him... but I kinda don't want to get that involved if you know what I mean. I only have the number from my communications to arrange a visit as I was a few hours away. JohnnyB PS. Has a full set of 68 Deluxe Wheel Covers and what appears to be a full set of original steel wheels. |

Another parts car I looked at the other day.
Vedora Green 68 Lemans. The good -most of the SS trim is in excellent condition, as is the glass. Front fenders are usable with patching, it's an AC car, instrument panel has been cut, interior is very very rough, floor pans rusted out, trunk lid rusty, hood looked good, rear quarters look salvagable, door have some holes. Engine, AC etc looks untouched. Original steel wheels. Again, I have nothing to do with this car either. Just relaying what I have found and personally driven the miles to look at, so it might save someone else some time and trouble, or provide someone with some leads for parts they need. http://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/2785053284.html Owner contacted me the day after I looked at it and told me he is now open to parting it out ..... which I had known that when I was there. Good luck, JohnnyB PS. Feel free to contact me if you want to talk to someone that's actually looked at these cars in person. |

That's a shame I wish I was closer I could use some parts off that car.

Boss, what I NEED are two front fenders, but there is a ton of stuff I WANT
![]() I'm attempting a thorough and correct restoration on a 68 GTO and in the past I've found that having a decent tempest/lemans parts car with V8 and AC sitting outside can provide a vast amount of small things and information. The problem has been ... a: finding a car with the parts I need that are salvagable b: finding one that has those parts and enough additional parts to cover the cost of the car and the substantial towing bill. I found just such a car 20 years ago... not sure if I can repeat the feat again. I'm giving this search about 6 months ....if it doesn't pan out I'll be back to trying to get the parts individually. Need list is: both front fenders, glove box door cover, lower control arms (probably a set on the way soon) Wants: Rally instrument cluster or at least the clock, full set of correct date plain steel wheels, maybe a better valance panel, and a thousand different original OEM nuts and bolts. I know what will happen ....I'll find one so nice, and for such a good price that I can't NOT buy it, and it will be too nice to part out, so it will leave me in the spot except with less money ![]() JohnnyB |
