Default Radiator Question

Anyone know if a 4 core, out of what was a '73 plain bird/auto has any value? The odd thing is this one has a Harrison stamp and also on the passenger side tank it said something like "Fill To Level" around 4 inches or so down. That "Fill To Level" is actually embossed on the tank itself in raised metal. My '73 does on have that. Is it a possible swap from an earlier bird?

My '74 4-core has the Harrison embossing. And, below and to the side is FILL^COLD. Does it still have the metal tag on the lower passenger side tank?

Thanks for the info! No the tag is gone, unfortunately. Are these worth anything?

Not as much as one with the tag. Is there even the remains of the tag? What are the tank codes?

I would pay $50 for one, if local, and have it recored. Of course, it seems, I want to pay lower than most folks in other states.

I added a couple pictures to earlier post.

Thanks for the pics. I wasn't sure if it was even right for my car. I didn't notice any remnants of the tag either, but I'll go back tomorrow to check and maybe buy it. The tank didn't look to be clogged, so I may just buy it as a stand by if it hasn't been nabbed.

Yes, it has some value. The four row core tanks are worth something, especially if they are not all dented up. The fill to level was used on radiators before the overflow tanks came into use. If you fill to that level, it is full to the top when hot.

That's interesting to hear. This '73 did not have the standard looking overflow bottle in it. This bottle was bolted to the fender. It made me think something had been swapped around in the car. The shroud looked a little different too.

I'd first like to determine if that particular tank description was found on a '73. Can anyone with a '73 confirm?

Okay, to clarify this radiator says "FILL^COLD" the same as HfR has in his picture. Anyone else out there with a '73 with the same tanks?

After reading 3tas4me, I had a look at my '70 4-core (no overflow). Same type embossing. If your '73 has the reservior not mounted on the support, it's been messed with. I'd still purchase the extra one. Are they wanting a lot for it?

My SD's has the overflow properly mounted, but the one the I'm researching came out of a bird that had the bottle mounted on the fender so I figured something had been monkeyed with. In any case, I did pick it up. It's in real nice shape with the worst of it being some of the fins facing the fan being bent together.

Since you do have it, what are the tank codes? Two letter code embossed on each tank.

On the tank with the cap, I see a "C U" I couldn't find that on the other tank. My Harrison in the SD has the same "Cold Level" marking but either because of the position or maybe it not being there, I can't see any stampings. I don't see any codes on the other tank in the same location on either radiator. What does the "C U" mean?

I'll have to look closer later. But, I didn't see one either. Was there any signs of a metal tag on the CU tank?

I didn't see any, but I've never seen one before. They're supposed to be on the bottom of the cap side, right?

I don't have even a trace of a remnant of that on either of my radiators. Does that have a part number on it?
