Default My kid's first Motocross race of the season

This Saturday is the season opener in the Local Motocross series .

My 13yr old son Nick will be racing in the 85cc senior class this year (12-16yrs)

We are looking forward to making as many races as possible and keeping track of points.

We are relatively new to the racing series , so ,, learning a bunch .
The atmosphere at the races is Awesome , lots of good folks , all about the kids having fun.

He is totally pumped ! Should be a BLAST !

Kid's got skills...I always wanted to be able to ride like this from a young age, but never could...too big and no bike skills.

Have fun with it, it's a great sport. Why is dad not out there as well?

Yeah , I know what you mean about "skills" ,
It's scary how fast the young ones progress.

I bought a YZ 125 last year so I could ride with him.
I don't ride as much as I would like , mainly because I'm a puss and it hurts when you fall.

My time is mostly consumed with keeping up on his bikes maintinence , kid goes thru a set of rear brake pads in about 12 hours of riding. Then there is piston & rings , sprockets ,lots of flat tires ,ect.......

I'm really enjoying it though.
