Default Hood Tach

Does anyone have a good template for a hood tach placement on a 1971 Lemans Sport Hood?

When I put my hood tach on my 71, I couldn't find a template for it. It came with a template for up to a 70 though. I found there were two options; follow the 70 template and cut a hole through the hood bracing or move the tach a few inches towards the centre of the hood.(for the left to right measurement) After reading a few reports of hoods buckling after cutting holes in the bracing, I positioned my tach more towards the centre of the hood. The fore and aft positioning from the template was accurate and I followed that measurement and for the left to right, I cut the hole as close as I could to what would be the suggested template without touching the hood brace. I have had one or two people tell me its in the wrong position but for the most part, people won't notice - and my hood hasn't buckled.
