Question Replace/refinish glove box door '70 Lemans/GTO

My '70 Lemans convertible has a black dash/interior. Some of the hard plastic (seat backs, glove box door) has 'crystallized' from extreme weather exposure (it was like this before we bought the car back in '96 or so.) The top layer of the plastic flakes off if you scrape it with your thumbnail for example -- so no amount of cleaning / conditioning is going to restore the finish. Armor All/303 ain't gonna cut it here.

I know there are vendors selling reproduction bucket seat back shells so no worries there.

But what about glove box doors? Are there any vendors selling reproduction glove box doors for '70 Lemans/GTO? I see them for earlier cars, just not the later ones.

Are there any refinishing techniques for re-establishing the Madrid(?) grain on a hard plastic part such as the glove box door outer shell? Or, are there shops that can restore the surface of the plastic?

I think you will come best out with buying a nice used one and paint it if needed.
Had the same problems with a lot of stuff in my -71 vert and did change most of the plastic.

To my knowledge there's not any place that could possibly accurately recreate that grain on the old plastic. Some places might say "they can" and then spray something like a textured paint chipguard on there, etc but that's hardly a match...not even close.

Don't know if repros are made but that or good used is the way to go.
