Default Does low compression cause engine temp to increase?

My 99 grand prix has low compression ont the front cylinders, can that cause my engine to run hot?

I installed a new 180 thermostat because it was running hot on in town driving. Being 110 Outside doesn't help, but it will creep up above 210 if I'm not constantly moving. Rad been checked and it has good flow.

210 is not overheating, especially with a tired engine. I think your '99 is engineered to run at 210-220 all the time, anyhow. Running a 180 'stat will cause it to remain in open loop longer and cause fuel waste and lower engine performance.
