Hi my name is Kyle know its a little late for an intro four posts in but i had to have my motor mounts figured out. (I'm trying to get my car running and ready for paint be for it rains) So here's the intro of who i am and what my cars about; when i was a little kid my dad gave me a model of a 68 Firebird with a blown 289. I always wanted a Firebird. When I decided I wanted to buy a car he just wanted me to buy a Chevy ( i come from a Chevy family especially my dad who has a 700 hp nova SS). When i told him i wanted a fire bird he didn't understand. He thought i should buy a Camaro and we argued and argued until I finally after looking at around 25 cars i found my69 Firebird. The news paper said it was 69 Firebird straight body needs interior. The guy i bought the car from dint know anything about the car. When i got it home found it was a 69 350 car lime light green with an auto and the slap bump shifter th350 bolted to a 79 301HO. At that point i decided to restore it. Nothing that would alter the look or make of the car. I started the rebuild and put new interior. I removed the red shag carpet and went to a black carpet and green for the rest of the interior. At age 15 i spent the best $250 in my life. I got a line on a 400 motor it was in a 69 Lamans. I continued to drive it thru high school until i was 18. I had a slight miss hap with a slippery road and a fence.
I recently pulled the car out dropped my 400 into it; with new trans and i am continuing my restoration job i left off. specs 69 firebird fresh (still has cross hatches in bore) 400 70 XX block (210 hp stock with low comp ratio and 2bbl) 65 gto arma steel crank 69 gto 48 heads roller rockers hipo I beam connecting rods windage try oil scraper double roller timing chain polished aluminum timing cover( now media blasted and Satan) etedlbrock hi pressure fuel pump miladon aluminum hi-flow water pump milled and polished inner vally super lopey cam (im not sure the specs wish i would have pulled it out to see but its all together and in the car so im not going to do that) aftermarket Vally pan with better pcv passage ways ( ive seen in it in pats catalogs called the tomahawk but im not sure) edtebrock performer rpm intake holly 750 dp carb hooker headers trans: 74 formula th 350 with shift kit sorry for the long rant i just wanted to do a proper intro if any questions feel free to ask ill answer to the best of my ability from my experience of my build ill post pics tomorrow kyle |
