Default fuel tank

I have talked with guys that converted repopped early Nova tanks to fit. The Nova tank is narrower to allow using leaf springs with a conventional axle. The filler neck has to be replaced with the stock Tempest's tank neck (cutting and welding). No repops of the Tempest tank are available.

so in my wifes 63 (it is a 4speed) I was able to use a 64 GTO tank. it fit very well but needed some help with the tank straps. I dont think they fit too well with an auto trans because of the torque converter. Hope it helps
