Here's a 68 I just got 2 weeks ago. Helped a friend out was hurting for $ I didn't really want the car (a lot of rust) but now I'm thinking maybe tuck it in the corner and try & save it later after a few other projects get done. Not sure what do you guys think I only have a few pics right now

Hard to say without more info... extent of the rust? original motor? 4-speed? RA II? :-)

I'll tell you one thing Craig...it looks better than I was picturing it when you described it to me. At the very least, looks like some very usable parts there.

It doesn't look too bad from the pics. Is there a lot lurking under the paint?

No motor or trans & a lot of hidden rust and looks like body filler too. frame is shot but I do have a spare frame & not to much interior left. I have a lot of time to decide plus when my son comes home on leave I'm sure he'll have a suggestion or two. will post more pics when I can. Thanks for the input

Hard to tell... Sometimes you go for it, 3 years later and 20K spent, you look back and wish you hadnt...
A non matching car, no drivetrain, needs a complete bodywork, new frame and well, everything else..? I'd say part it unless you have the money in hand to do it NOW. Or sell it to somebody who can restore it pronto.. If not, I bet it will rot in your backyard... |
