[400 4spd.]

I want to spray about 400 ft. of OSB interior wall with white latex. Also the same amount of sheetrock. Neither has been primed.
This is work space, so I just want to brighten it up. Is there a commercial/contractor grade paint that will give one coat coverage, or will I have to prime first?
I plan to rent a sprayer, advise on that is also welcome.

You painting the smooth side of osb or the rough? Seems like rough would really soak up the paint.

I would prime first if it was me, expecially the drywall. Spray and backroll both coats.

Don't buy the cheapest stuff you can find. Use a good quality primer-sealer & paint. Backrolling, especially the primer, will give you better adhesion. Also, the higher the gloss of the paint, the easier it is to clean.

Back rolling will also give you more uniform apperance.

The best way esp. to "seal" OSB in a work enviroment is to spray and
backroll it with oil based bin/kilz or enamel undercoater. Then a top coat
of ordinary latex semi-gloss interior paint.
Backrolling fills the voids and valleys in the OSB and makes the finish uniform.

You could just cheap out and spray and backroll with any interior latex paint.

I just did this to my new garage. I wired it, insulated, OSB on the bottom
4 ft. up and sheetrocked the remaining 4 ft. to the ceiling.
Bin-ed the OSB and Painted it all gloss white latex.

Sure is shiny and bright with all the new Fluorescent shop lites!

Gonna be a SWEEEET place to do the resto on my 72 t-41 ragtop!
MUCH better than my old cold, dark, drafty barn !!!!!!!!!!!

Compressor, TUNES, press, grinder, benches, cabinets, vice, heat, exaust fan
in place and ready to go!

I've used white masonite board before and it is easy to wipe down. 1/8" sheets are 15 bucks a piece. While 1/4 is around $ 25. OSB is roughly 12 bucks a sheet and you have to paint it.

7/16 osb around 8 bucks last time I bought it. I'm doing the same thing-well I ahve the paint-need to take time. I placed the smoothest side out which has the labeling. I went to Sherwin-Williams (we have been dealing with them since the early 60's). I'm using white gloss latex. I will seal first with Kiltz or equiv. to seal labeling. Same thing to make the space look clean and large. I'm rolling evrything no spray. Bob

I just went to lowes and bought 2 5's of cheap contractor grade white for the osb in my 20 -24 addition with 12' ceilings, rolled it, good and bright

I will post some, but this is not a home shop. When I said "400 feet", I meant linear feet. (Actually it will be closer to 500.) It's 10,000 square feet of concrete floor with 8' OSB walls with sheetrock above some of that.

first one is the 72 waitin' for resto, second one is the front wall and its OSB top to bottom and exaust fan installed
(thats the box stickin' out on the right side of pic, it has doors on it,
The third one is the side wall with bench, cabinet and tool box
Fourth pic is lookin' to the double doors

The clutter junk is now in the barn!

I did my whole garage with OSB, primed and painted. I used Duron High Gloss Exterior paint. Had to wipe grease off a few times from friends putting greasy hands on the walls and it came right off. Nice and bright as well. I painted the bottom 2 feet black so it wouldnt show the dirt from sweeping, mopping or feet hitting it.
