This ever happen or come from the factory?

As I recall, the last year for redlines from the factory was the 1969 model year. I believe the tire options were blackwalls, whitewalls, white stripes, or white raised letter tires. I hope someone else chimes in to either verify or otherwise confirm!

Not sure of the actual option code, but yes, they featured redlines in a few promo pics.

They could have been offered as an option. I think a majority were ordered with RWL but I could be wrong. But I have seen some that had WW as original equipment.

69 was last year they were offered as factory option / alternate.
Pre-Pub pics always have descrepencies. Not saying a 70 never had a set installed on it by some other means tho, or even possibly a few might have rolled out early in production by chance. You'd get docked on a high point resto if you displayed Red Lines on a 70. fwiw But no more docked than current late model RWL radials , for example. Run whatever you like the best. |
