Default Chick in the NFL?

Looks like the NFL may be going the way of Nascar & Danica.

Quote:

A 28-year-old woman from New York is set to become the first female to be given a try out for the NFL.
Lauren Silberman had never kicked anything more than a soccer ball in an organized game before she started practicing long-range field goals.
Now she has been given a chance at an NFL regional scouting combine on Sunday at the New York Jets' training facility in Florham Park, New Jersey.
If she can do it, great. Sign her up.
But if she can, I'm sure it will be turned into a media circus that will dwarf anything that surrounded Tebow.

Professional sports have been a media circus for years. Athleticism has nothing to do with
it any more, it's all about the next highlight reel.
I say go for it. Just don't implement any wussy protect the kicker rules that aren't already in place.

Should be interesting on kick returns when the runner blows by all the defenders and she's the only one left to blow by to get a touchdown (LOL).

If that happens on one of her special days of the month, then I pity the runner.

She's not a good kicker, just....a kicker.

NFL teams need a kicker that's accurate and consistent for extra points, accurate from within the 30-yard line, and if they pass those tests, then they look to see if they can make 50+ yarders. This girl can't do that.

If an NFL team picked her up, it would be for the hype and for the publicity.

It's not like NASCAR would do anything like that....

This photo makes her appear as if she was surgically fixed to have a permanent beauty pageant smile. Looks like forty+ years old too.

Silberman wrote her Master's thesis on how college and pro athletes can use video games to improve their athletic performance.
Maybe this is why she thinks she can play in the NFL?

She's going to get killed; I would say few guys (even the big bad asses) can handle a 300 + pd guy slamming into them at 20 mph. And how many guys at that size feel comfortable slamming into any woman like she's a man ? It's like beating a woman up -

Lightbulb Why all the cheap shots?

Women have served in the military for years

They play basketball - soccer - softball - baseball
They participate in most track and field events
They run marathons

Why are some guys so insecure they have to make fun of them ?

Grow up - this ain't high school anymore ...

Other than Marathons, they don't compete together.

Yeah, I have to agree with U47....

There's a difference between respecting a female athlete for their talent and skills, and being politically correct and forcing women into men's sports, with the attitude of, "If you don't like it, you're a chauvinist."

That's what's wrong with America today. Liberals believe that unless EVERYONE is included in EVERYTHING, then NO ONE should be included. It's all or nothing.

A women in the NFL would be a huge mistake, because the first time she's forced to scramble for the ball, she'll be seriously injured. When that happens, the same people that were championing her cause to get her into the NFL will be asking why she was out there, or why the holder fumbled, or why so-and-so had to tackle her so hard. Then the lawsuits fly.

Just because your little girl plays soccer with little boys on a school ground, that doesn't mean women should be in violent, professional sports alongside men.

Women have been in male dominated sports for decades, such as drag racing, stock car racing, etc. When muscles and stamina are required, they have women's categories, such as in swimming, golf, basketball, baseball (softball), soccer, and all the other sports.

Putting a female on the field in an NFL game would set the sport back 40 years.

Let her kick in the Lingerie League.
