1978 Trans Am race car
1978 Trans Am race car for sale:
Body: Fiberglass doors, hood and trunk lid. Clear One lexan windows with Margaurd. Interior: Kirkey aluminum seats, Turbo Action w/ Dedenbear c02 air shifter, Biondo Mega 450 delay box, Autometer gauges, Dedenbear c02 throttle stop Wheels: Weld Alumastars (rear 15x14 & front 15x31/2) Tires: Hoosier (rear 15x33, front 25x4.5) Chassis: 12 point cage NHRA certified (expired tag), 4 link w/ anti roll, Rear (9” w/ Mark Williams center section, aluminum pinion support, billet yolk, spool 4.10 gears and 35 spline axles) QA1 shocks and springs. Front (Moroso springs w/ Competition engineering shocks) Brakes: 4 wheel disc, Front (Aerospace) Rear (Wilwood), Strange master cyl. Engine: Pontiac 455+.060 factory block w/hardblok, nodular steel crank, billet main caps, Eagle rods, Ross pistons, Comp solid roller cam and lifters, Edlebrock alum. Heads (ported by Butler Perf.), Edlebrock Victor intake, Harlan Sharp roller rockers, Comp Cams pushrods, Canton oil pan, remote oil filter, Pro Systems 1050 Dominator, MSD distributor Transmission: TH400 w/ JW trans. Brake, ATI convertor Ignition: MSD w/3 step Performance: The car has been a best of a 9.68 @ 138 w/ a 1.29 60’ on average it runs 9.80’s @ 135 w/ a 60’ of 1.32-1.34. In S/ST it runs 10.90’s @ 132-134. I’ve won 2 NHRA divisional championships with the car in 2002 & 2007. The car works awesome and leaves nice and is easy to drive. It’s a very low maintenance car, I only shift at 6000 and it go through the traps between 6000-6200. $16,500 turn key or $12,500 as a roller (no motor, trans or convertor)
