Penny on motor
Any idea why someone would silicone a penny in a hole on the engine block under the intake?
Is this some sort of good luck thing or do I need to worry about it? |

Isn't that where the PCV valve goes?

That looks like the rubber grommet in the valley pan where the PCV valve goes. There should be a vaccum hose going from the PCV to the base of the carb or maybe in your case from the valve cover to the carb.

What year Firebird? '67 has the PCV valve in the valley pan that vents to intake manifold and no vent tube from the passenger side valve cover - right? '68 and 9 had the PCV valve vented to intake and also vent pipe on passenger side valve cover to air cleaner.
I also saw the Winters foundry casting mark on the intake (next to thermostat housing on passenger side). What year is the engine?

So I should remove the penny and route the PVC correctly? Is that recommended? |

If you remove the penny, you will decrease the value of the car.

I removed it last night and I thought it would have been something if it was a 68 penny but no, they used a 1970.
