Default Did they use a rev limiter

I was watching youtube vids of Dick Landy and Ronnie Sox and was wondering if guys that raced manual trans cars back then used any type of rev limiter. Those guys could shift like nobody's business but i'm sure they missed a gear now and then.

Bet they used one of these run off a distributor with a mechanical tach drive. Saw one on an old Hemi museum car.

Do not think that I ever saw Ronnie Sox EVER miss a gear. Period!

Dick Landy, If the gear was not there, he was strong enough to make a new one! (;>)

ps Dick Landy and his brother helped build the Boosted Engine for the Bonneville Streamliner team I was involved with before Dick's death.
He was an inspiration and a very humble guy when you actually talked to him. He still had the stogie but it was all for show. Never lit up.

And they or at least Dick used the clutch to shift every gear too. In a vid i was watching he shattered the clutch off the line.
