Ok, so I go to start my 66 for the first time. Won't start with what I thought should be a fully charged battery so I try to jump it with my son's car.
Upon connecting the jumper cables, the engine starts to slowly turn and the jumper wires got really hot. GTO key was off. Is my starter fried?

Yup, sounds like the same problem we had in our old truck, solenoid got stuck and drained the battery, upon touching the cables they burned your skin on contact.

Hit starter with a hammer. I'm not joking.I have had starters do that to me.

Wow, that brings back bad memories, exhaust burnt arms an all. But it did work... for a while.

Robbmc. Great unit. Installed one on mine this year, wish I had done it sooner.
