Agree, great color & relatively rare with the 350HO, but RUFF, RUFF!
From the looks of the leading on the roof seam, a factory vinyl top car that the rear window leakage did a number on. CA cae or not, pop the rear 1/4 trim & there be will rot there as well. Bet the buyer paid several extra $1000 just because it ran. Personally, when stumbling across such "deals", I like the sound of an electric winch or a my HD come-a-longs getting some muscle work, going to have to come all the way apart any way, no thrill for me that they barely run.

Speaking of 350HO LeMans, about 20 years ago there was a '69 2 door hardtop in the big Pick-N-Pull over in Grand Prairie west of the NAS. Made me sick it made it in there. Used to hit that yard every week, many an all-you-can-carry. Great times!

Oh that sucks hearing a 69 HO was in a GP yard, I haven't hit those yards in a long time. The seller just replied it was HO and he had that in his EbaY ad last year. By rarest junkyard car in Dallas area was one of the 4 speed 400 73 grand Ams with honeycombs, swivel buckets, sun roof and 3.23 posi. we saw guys driving to the junkyards in Lavon aparently looking to sell it not know it was a 4 speed until later finding it in Copeville Big boys yard near Lavon later, ended up getting the rearend and sway bars off it. LOL
Also found a 68 Tempest automatic 350 HO engine in a wrecked 69 Bird in Blackland Wrecking rockwall and sat on that engine for years and ended up selling it for $50. want a redo on that.haha

Was that a vinyl top car? I thought so at first but at the end it looked kind of like a painted top.
I'd love to have the rear seat covers from that car.

He was really polishing up a real turd on this one, used car salesman in training. LOL I bet it had a vinyl top but was pealed off. MY turquoise on turquoise 68 lemans had a black vinyl top this one may of had a white top. My GTO's hood I got used is not bent but my first LeMans white 4 speed car was and my second Lemans turquoise car was not. I learned the closing trick on my first one push while pulling down one side at a time alternating.

Here is another turquoise car for sale last year on Ebay but it is a two barrel car, note that I should of mentioned the larger snorkel inlet size on HO car above versus this two barrel car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QaJ25mdjnM
asked the guy how much he sold HO for waiting for answer just curious. thinking under $1500

So has anyone ever seen a colored vinyl top car with a roof painted the same color as the vinyl top underneath, different then the body color?

I've never seen a vinyl top car where the top was painted at all underneath the vinyl.
Usually, the paint is just fogged on about halfway up the sail panels as best I could tell. Has a lot to do with why they rust so badly there I would think.

The HO option was kinda rear ,,, how do you know that these (all of them) were HO car. The one that was in the firebird for instance?? What are you looking for when you say these were HO car to make them HO engines???

Looks like old vinyl around the rear window trim. Had factory a/c that is still hooked up. Does not look that hard to fix. Too bad the dash was cut aropund the radio.

Any factory four barrel equipped 350 in a 68-69 LeMans or Tempest or a Firebird is an HO High Output option engine. Just two barrels were most 350's. Cylinder head casting is unique to 350 HO in 68 #18 , saw it in video and seller confirmed when I asked. Firebird engines are different engine codes though due to different exhaust manifold on driver side.
HO Lemans and Tempest have no external markings what so ever to seperate them for regular common 350 two barrel cars, you have to look under the hood!

Not all 350 4 bbl cars were HO cars. In 69 a 350 HO car had to have # 48 heads & the S cam which is the cam they used for all Ram Air III cars. All the 350 HO cars to had duel exhaust also. They could have been auto or stick but the important parts are the # 48 heads & the S cam. But the if in doubt pay the mney for the PHS & that way you'll know for sure.

All 68-69 350 four barrels are HO, they all have duals and yes the 69's have the small chamber version 66cc of the 48 heads I was discussing the 18 for 68 only. 68 have 066 cam for automatic and 067 cam for stick, Sorry no non-HO 4 barrel 350 in 68-69 and no 350HO after 69 as I was not referring to smog 350 four barrel 74 models like a GTO

No not ALL 350 4bbl 68-69's were HO cars. The 350 HO was a special order option for the Lemans. It was an extra cost option to have the 350 4 bbl engine in the Lemans. You could have ordered a 350 4bbl car that had single exhaust that was not an HO car. The HO option was for the people who wanted the GTO but didn't want the hiher insurance tag that came with the GTO. The 350 HO car had 330 HP. , so you got almost the same HP for a lesser price & a lower insurance price tag to. You have to be old enough to remember why they did what they did to keep the HP race alive.

I hate to bicker over this man bur there is only a 265 hp two barrel 9.2:1 350 and one 320 hp 10.5 4 barrel 350 in 68 , the 330 hp was the 69 big valve version of the 350 10.5:1 four barrel HO. there is no in between hp level. and HO don't mean dual exhaust it is the name of the engine that comes with dual exhaust.

Pontiac Larry is right on the money. In 68/69 only the 350's with 4 bbl.'s were HO. With it you got 10.5:1 comp, hotter cam and dual exhaust. Larry and I both have/had one of these HO's. The 68/69 with 4speed had the 068 cam, auto's got the 067 (not sure if a/c gave you the 066 cam). Same HO engines could be had in the Tempest, LeMans and Firebird. Only difference, I believe, was one of the exhaust manifolds on the Firebird. Only the Firebird with the 350 HO had any kind of exterior call out. I love GTO's but I love having a 4 speed, convertible, 350 HO just as much....

Totally agree on 2bbl cars or 350 HO's .

On my earlier post of the car in the video being an ex vinyl top car, I made that deduction by watching the video as the seller scanned by the rear pillar. Factory vinyl top cars did not have the attention to detail when the body was in the body in white stage. Factory two tone (painted top) cars will be metal finished to a much higher level in this seam area than cars that were going to get factory vinyl tops.
