HELLO ALL. WHAT IS THE CORRECT COLOR OF THE VENT TUBE GOING FROM THE AIR CLEANER TO THE RH VALVE COLOR?? ALUMINUM? COLOR OF ENGINE? ANY HELP OR SOURCE IS APPRECIATED. THANKS, TOM

Everyone I have seen is natural steel color. Not painted.

Incorrect. These were black from the factory. Black phosphate or zinc, I can't recall. They oxidize and turn grey over time. They were not natural color nor were they engine color. I have pictures from two one-owner cars that I own. Neither ever apart and not tampered with. Both show black original finish even as other parts of this tube have oxidized.

I'd have to dig some old pics up, but the underhood shots I've seen in old road tests and Pontiac sales literature seem to indicate Kurt is right.

quick look through pictures - here's one shot of a car I purchase from the original owner (since Nov 1967). In the picture, you can discern that the color is not silver. If you look near where this meets with the air cleaner, you can see the darker black. Looking at the rest of the picture, you can detect the faded color. This picture is a couple of years old. I have better but can't find them now so this will have to do. Fact remains, these were NOT silver.

AGreed. Car is on side of my garage under cover. The engine actually starts/runs! Sadly, the years of Wisconsin winters, salt and sitting on moist WI farm soil under a tarp for years killed the floors/frame. There is more carpet/rust holding this thing together than frame/floors. It's a 3-spd manual car. It may die so that others may live. Everything is there from the factory...I mean EVERYTHING.
