Default OHC 7 blade fan

This is from a 67 OHC I picked up this spring
Motor was removed from a 67 Lemans in favor of a more "popular" 400 V8
Sat outside for 15+ years, but the owner did cover the carb with an old spackle bucket!
The motor was obviously stuck from sitting outside all those years, but I was mainly interested in the power steering dual groove pulley & pump, the dual groove alternator, the water pump pulley and the A/C compressor & brackets.
I originally thought it was just an aftermarket flex fan, but it seemed strange that everything else was original.
I also have the more traditional 7 blade fan.

Post OHC fan

The motor is stored at work; I'll check and post the numbers tomorrow.
The fan did have a spacer installed as per Jeff's parts diagram which originally made me think it was an add on.
I thought the spacer would move the fan too close to the radiator.
The car was definitely a 67. I was shown photos of the completed car when it was repainted.
I would guess that the OHC/fan assembly could have been swapped out earlier in it's life, but it sure looked original to me.
Ron

Without question it is a 67-69 Firebird fan and spacer.
Remembering the longer engine bay/nose of the Firebirds is why they used/needed a spacer.

Question OHC A/C 7 Blade Fan

There are 2 sets of numbers on the backside of one of the blades
The top # is stamped SC 9135697
The bottom # is stamped 9788982

The front part is simply stamped FRONT!

I was told this was from a 67 Lemans, but with the aluminum spacer, it doesn't look like it would fit without hitting the radiator.

Any ideas as to year or model?

Ron

Post 7 blade radiator fan

It's listed on the first generation Firebird site as:
9788982
7 blade, 18" diameter Power-Flex
1967-9 L6 with A.C. or H.D.

Not a 67 A body thats for sure
those were fixed 7 blade with A/C
and not enough room for the Firebird only flex fan and or a spacer(ask me how I know)

Will the 7 blade fan used on A body OHC work and cool ok on a F body with ac? I have a seven blade off a 67 A body OHC with air and was planning on using it on my firebird one day, but now see it was a different fan with different spacing from radiator.

Thumbs up 7 blade A/C fan

I have the fan & spacer for the Firebird, but I own a Lemans
You have the fan for the Lemans, but own a Firebird.

Looks like the making of a parts swap!
I have the fan, spacer and the 4 original bolts.

pm me if interested
Ron
