Default Straight Axle

Conversion that is, or rather "how to"! And plenty of questions. The car will retain the original engine with a possible power upgrade later.

Any good references on how to do a 4 link in one of these?

Pros and cons of ladder bars vs 4 link? Best parts for the money? Well that's a start.

Anyways, here it is. Had it for 23 years and just now started working on it. 326 2bbl automatic. All there and even has the original spring loaded battery cables on it!

Thanks for the info Radman. 4 link it is and pics would be great!

Tom, I have read the forum for weeks and it was your posts that made me decide to do a bolt in with brand new rear suspension rather than splicing in some salvage yard doner parts.

Here it is in the process of getting stripped down with everything bagged and tagged. Amazing how the bolts on old Pontiacs will almost always turn and are hardly ever frozen.

Default 4 link pictures

This is my 62. The guy who did the work builds racing chassis for Bobby Rayhall racing. When I heard that he did that my statement was "He has the job." The square bars are just for spacing in place of the coil over springs.

Finished car pictures. The white one has the straight axle, the red one is stock with the transaxle.
