All B-O-P; A body cars with a Muncie 4 speed transmission have the speedometer cable exit out of the Driver's side of the tailhousing. Chevrolet A & B body all + 67-69 Camaro and Firebirds exit out of the Passenger side.

I did some research on this. This is a friends car. This car has a 390 rear with a close ratio 4 speed trans. It has a 2 piece cable and the cable is on the drivers side.
One thing that is interesting is the sales order paperwork has a speedometer adapter that cost $11.59. It is not on build sheet. He has no ideal what it is and he said the sales man thought is was for a speedometer buzzer. I would still like more info on this. Have a great Day, Chris |

Some people on another thread are saying you need a speedometer adapter for 3:90 and up gears to get the speedometer to read right and it goes into tranny where the speedometer cable goes in and it has a 90 degree bend in it.One end goes into tranny and the other screws into the speedometer cable.
