"Snake and Mongoose" movie avaialble on Netflix
This movie came out last year and appears to have been a bomb. The website never listed more than a few theatres showing it and it never came closer than 100 miles from Tucson, to my knowledge. I assume NHRA lost big-time on any involvement they had in producing it.
All that said, however, we got it from Netflix yesterday (it became available April 8th), both watched it and both really liked it (four stars out of five in the Netflix rating system). Being old and being a drag race fan helps, of course, but the acting and storyline were both much better than I expected. The vintage TV and film footage of the actual events were well woven into the narrative. There were a lot of great pictures of vintage drag race machinery, both in the original footage and in the scenes shot when the movie was made. If you get DVD's from Netflix, I recommend seeing this film. It wasn't as good as "The World's Fastest Indian" (that movie had Anthony Hopkins), but it was well worth an evening spent watching it. Jim

I also thought it was awesome and underrated. lots of nitro crackle. the film footage and all the old drag race vehicles in the movie were pretty cool. two thums up.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
Anything objectionable, if I watch it with my daughters (or especially religious wife)? K

You can buy the DVD at Wally World for $10 I think. I rented it from Redbox for $1.30.
