Hey everyone, been a while since I've posted but I need help finding a part. I rolled the window down in the tempest a few weeks ago and the glass separated from the channel. I was able to roll it up until I had time to disassemble the door to see what the problem was. When I got it apart the steel channel that holds the door glass was rusted so bad that part of it was gone and the other part was bent. This is for the drivers door on a 2 door coupe. Do any of you know where I could get one? Anybody have a used one they would sell?

I found this on steel rubber products website but I think this is just the upper portion. http://www.steelerubber.com/steel-sa...nel-50-0418-59 I guess I would have to rivet or weld the roller guide to the bottom of it?

What you found from Steele is what I used for both my cars. You will need to weld, or rivet the roller channel and guides to it, but is easy. The most difficult part is setting the glass in with butyl tape. My glass guy made a mess of it, more likely could have done it myself and saved $50.

Steele is the part. Weld or rivet. Use black rtv or windshield sealant. Fill channel, insert window, trim excess. Works great on wind wings. Don't use tape anymore.

Rusted lower glass channels is a real problem on 62 and 63 Lemans cars, especially convertibles. I had to repair/restore both sides on my car. People are right the part that steele sells is just the "U" shaped channel that the lower edge of the glass rests into. The other part is a C shaped guide for the regulator rollers. When GM made these parts; after spot welding (which is the way the upper and lower sections were originally joined together) they chrome plated the entire assembly. This was because when you roll the side glass all the way up, the top thin edge of the glass channel is ever so slightly visible both from inside and outside the car.
