Looking for an original 1964 GTO 37 Amp alternator. Car has build date of 3rd week in May 64, but will consider others.

It might be an 1100634 or1100621 too. If John V chimes in he will know.

According to a reference edition of The Legend magazine, it shows 1100683 for both 389 4
and 389 3x2bbl as the standard 37 amp alternator.

Yes, #1100683 is the standard 37 amp alternator in '64. I need one, too.

Is that from a full size Pontiac ? I do not show that number for a GTO, in the reference information I have.

Here's what the date code looks like on my '64 GTO alternator. The year is first--4D28 is 1964, April 28.

The 1100668 is, I believe, correct for a '64 Tempest six cylinder car--and many other GM cars, including '64 Corvette, Impala, Chevelle, etc.

Here's a picture of the alternator on my 64. I believe it to be original to my car because the stamp on my cowl and on the PHS is April 23 64 2nd shift
