Awesome job Stan! I would be considering making it a delivery, if it were my project.

Thanks all, yeah Gary, still up in the air about that, but he is building the window channel so that I could literally change it from one to another, we'll see.

I am really debating on having him eliminate the side fill gas door, as I am wanting this to be as sleek as I can make it without fudging up the original lines.

Just not sure if I am comfortable with an inside the tailgate fill? I guess I could always have a recessed panel with a gas "door" over it in the spare tire well.

You could always modify to behind the lisence plate and have an original look.

Very cool.

Is this a 2dr door in a Safari body (with the needed new B pillar and quarter changes)?

How many inches long is the new rear side window (measured at the bottom of the window)?
How many inches long is the door window (also at the bottom of the window) without the vent wing?

I like this look without the vent wing in the door better, FWIW.

It's basically just a reg. 4 door wagon that had all four doors and half of the rear quarters removed and replaced with 2 dr coupe long doors and b-post and half quarters, the big rear side glass is made up as no production 2dr Tempest wagons.

The tops of the window frames on the doors had to be spliced with the rear halves of the 4 door frames, as the coupe frames arch down and the wagon frames are straight.

Just something I always wanted after seeing the Tieman(sp) car. This however will be a true driver, have new 462 Pontiac with Richmond 6 sp tranny and nine inch waiting in the wings.

I would have to get you that widow measurement, as I have no idea off the top of my head.

Thanks Stan

I thought about that, BUT I would think it too low, as even on the coupes the fill is ABOVE the bumper in the trim panel. Not to mention I am hoping to put a large tank in it, I am shooting for at least 25 gallons, this needs to be a long distance hauler.

Stan,,,You could put 3 tanks in it. Stock tank under the back end & 2 side saddle tanks in the L&R side quarters! WAG at 30+ gallons or so. Could rig it so the side tanks gravity feed into the main tank or add electric pumps for fuel transfer to the main tank. Could put a fuel filler on the opposite side from stock & may be able to squeeze two filler necks into the stock fuel door. Just thinking outside of the box here.

Good idea Keith, no problem with outside of the box, it's where I prefer to reside, less crowded!

Final primer and finish sand and scuff on short body, front sheet metal is ready for paint.

They do have all of the extended tracks and modified window mechanisms done for the "wingless" door windows.

Custom glass panels ordered, oversize tunnel for the Richmond six speed goes in next and then ready for paint.

Motor is done 462, tranny is new and custom rear being built. Still have to fit the 26 gal fuel tank, but have it pretty well figured out.

Paint will be Sliver Leaf Green lower with Cameo Ivory top.

Was really hoping for Power Tour, but at this point I'll be happy with Norwalk.

Yeah Dave, color was a real struggle, but in the end it will match the drag car I bought off ponjohn406.

Hey Vin, the body is completely done as far as roof, body work, rust repair, etc. it has been epoxy primed, final sanded and is ready for paint. I'll get you some pics next time I am down there.

But to be honest it is probably going to be a while as I am really pushing to get this wagon done.

Once the wagon is done I will be back on it, as it stands right now, I am going to start selling off most of the fleet, probably only keeping the wagon, the drag car, and your 4 cyl. cp, and I will keep one of my 63 Econoline pick up's (just not sure yet if it will be the three window, or the five window), everything else will be sold.

Will be selling off my orange/black 63 cp, my 63 Gasser, my 62 roller (already FS on here),my 69 FB 400 cp, my 69 T/A conv. clone, my G8 GXP, my Reatta conv's, and all of the parts cars I have laying around.

Just getting to be too much and I want to do more driving and events rather than wrenching and sweating.

How have you been?

I'm good. Just still waiting to get my white '63 coupe to paint and body. Can't wait to see the ol' black car the way it should be. That Wagon is gonna be awesome! Great job!

You've got it, Transporter...Driving 'em. To me, THIS is where enjoyment happens in our hobby. Of course, we gotta wrench on 'em to get 'em to that point!
