Default 65 GTO header clearance

We have a car we are assembling and I was taking a survey on how to gain header clearance with the least amont of problem. It's a 400 with Doug headers.Spacers under the engine mount brackets seems the most simple solution.

Were the headers originally designed for the 64-67 chassis or the 68-72 chassis>

No clearance problems with Dougs and iron D ports or KRE D ports in my 65.
