I purchased that cam, but haven't finished installing it in my 455 -- hopefully in the next few days.
The ICL should read 106°. Typo on the catalog, but timing card shows 106°. |

Definitely install it at 106°. The VooDoo cams HAVE to be at least 4° advanced to work right.

You have way too much gearing.Do you have the heads already? How much power do you want?Or how quick do you want to run?

For conversation.....
Calculate RPM for given MPH, Rear Gear Ratio and Trans Gear Ratio http://www.wallaceracing.com/calc-rpm.php 105 mph 1/4-mile trap speed (a guess) 28" tire 4.10 gear 1.1 trans ratio (presume a TH400 trans) Result = 5166 rpm (does not factor in converter slip and tire growth) Now ask at what rpm will the proposed engine make peak power at ? .

Bwahahaha... good catch. I changed it.
And of coarse the mph was a wild guess. Not enough known about the proposed combo. Example of a combo, again for conversation only.... 4.210 stroke, unported alum heads, 10:1 compression, Performer RPM intake w/ Q-jet, headers and a 230 degree hyd flat tappet cam will make peak power at about 5200-5300 or so rpm. A similar roller cam might extend that some. And keep in mind where a combo makes it's 'peak' power rpm at is much different than where it will 'rev' to. Often 'reving' it a lot higher can be non productive. Also where it will be shifted at for best performance at the track. .

Not really looking for a "quarter mile cam", I am more concerned with its characteristics on the street. Throttle response, best converter, will it work with e85?
I have a Ehead wideport combo right now (65ccchambers). I Just decided to try to make a driver out of my car, instead of a race car. I may even throw a Procharger on later!

Yea, it has 31's on it now but, they are slicks.
