I guess this isn't a tech ? but I looked a couple times and didn't see anything for general discussion for 67 GTOs, so I hope I don't offend anyone by asking here? I bought my 67 GTO #242177P107907 in 1992. I pulled it off the road in 05 and took it completely down for resto. Now just a rolling frame and shell. Unfortunately, my financial situation changed and may not get any better. Now i don't know what to do. I offered everything to my brother-in-law for free and any help I could if he would put it back on the road but he's not interested. I hate to sell it but its sitting in storage at $212. a month. I guess I am forced to move it. Does it have more value as parts or whole? It needs full resto but comes with most of the repair panels. It has a 67 GTO AM/FM, custom sport steering wheel, clock, P.S., P.B., fact. AC. 400/400 turbo center console, 67 10 bolt 355 posi, 68 seats with headrest and passenger recliner[interior is parchment and should clean up to be a real nice driver to possibly local show quality]. It has a YS motor from a field car that has never been cut but is rebuilt and on engine stand + a complete 67 GP 400 motor YC[I believe?]. Lots of spare parts[radiators, compressors, stainless, front & rear windshield, rally IIs, spare 67 GTO rear bumper, new dual exhaust kit, ect.
Anyway, what do I do with it. It really hurts me to think I should do move it but I just don't think I can ever afford to put it together. The motor and rear are 67 GTO ut not original to this car. Are the some of its parts worth more than the whole? I don't have a clue what a 67 GTO is worth anymore.

Sorry to hear your dilemma, just know you are not along in these crazy economic times.

Parting it will without doubt yield the most money, but can take a very long time to do so as well as likely leave you with a load of un-sell-able "common" parts.

Selling as a whole project is always a hard sell and you will be lucky to break-even.

I would suggest you bag, tag & catalog everything if you have not done so.
Knowing exactly what you have and what condition it is in to offer and knowing exactly what is missing and/or need replacing would help with an all or nothing sale.
But also helps if you go the part route.

Basket case cars are always worth a fraction of what a whole car is worth. If you could re-assemble it to the condition it was in (no resto work, but a tired but running car) you could get more $$$ out of it. Parting it out would take time,and also pay the most $$$. At your current rate, you are bleeding money, and need to get out from under. You could sell it easily as-is on this forum, but be prepared for the reality of taking a major loss. Again, once torn apart, the value of these cars plummets.

Sorry, I hope I didn't come off as saying that if a drivable 67 GTO is selling for $20, 30, 40,000 that I think my car is worth $10,000 or something. Believe me, for years now I have been doing the research as far as putting a car back together. The only way someone should buy this car, as is sets, is if they want to build a 1967 GTO for themselves and not for profit unless they are a body shop or something. I am realistic[I think]. IF, with all I have, WOULD it be worth $3000 and take it all away? If not, I am sure i can part it, then sell the body and all the common stuff for maybe a grand or so or is it worth more as scrap?
I saw years ago, they were reproing the front bumpers. Are they doing the rears, if so, does a straight original bumper have any value?
IF, they would have made a nice quarter, years ago, my car would be in my garage. That is the one thing that held me up. I have 1 full repro quarter but it is paper thin.
I honestly hope that if any of you really like your cars, that you are never put in a position like mine.
