Default 69 GTO tail light bezels

I'm finally going to get my bumper re-chromed on the 69. I need to also have something done to the tail light bezels at the same time. Is it possible to restore the original bezels? I see two repo sets for sale, one from the parts place which are ABS plastic, the other ones are from inline tube and are metal. The metal ones are $89.00 more than the plastic ones. Any suggestions on which way to go?
Thanks.

I had my originals rechromed before repo's were out. You need a set w/o pits in them to have a really nice set when you are done. (I first bought a pair other than my original set to chrome, but they had pits--they looked like hell. I then sent off my originals that were only faded--they look really nice.)

I have heard good things about the metal ones. I think there may be a grounding issue with the plastic ones although people say they look good.

I would go with the metal repo's from what I have heard.

I bought a set of the plastic ones in June 2003, waaaay before the metal repops were available. My OEM's were really bad.
I challenge anybody to stand behind the car and tell me what material they are made from.
The only issue I've ever had with them was when I recently repainted the insides of my housings I struggled to get a good ground on the driver side unit upon reinstallation. I cured that with a short jumper over to the trunk latch housing....this would not be an issue you'd run into with a metal repop.

I've seen brand new plastic ones where the horizontal center bar was warped
and not straight....had a slight bow in the middle. Use the metal ones....a no-brainer.

I used a set of metal bezels from PY on a customer's convertible last year. I consider them to be high quality pieces that are heavy castings and well made. Honestly much better than I expected. The only issue we had was the upper outer corners contacting the quarter panels very slightly in the curve. A file fixed that. The car is very original and prior body damage or repair was not a factor.

I bought a set of metal ones over a year ago from someone on the west coast(ebay) and they are awesome. Fit, finish and definitely a high quality part. Highly recommend the metal one's and I have never received poor quality parts from Inline Tube. They do have great stuff. I would highly recommend re chroming you r original bumper if it fit well. Mine didn't so I bought a re-pop from our site sponsor. Typical imported ill fitting panel. I got what I paid for... Good luck on your project. Mike
