Default Did Ram Air IVs come with heavy duty cooling

Just wondering if the ram air IVs came with the heavy duty cooling option or maybe the heavy duty radiator or heavy duty fan or both. Was the heavy duty cooling just the fan and radiator or what did it consist of.Im guessing the heavy duty radiatior was just the 4 core radiator from a car with air condtioning? Was the fan a clutch fan like that used on a car with AC?Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Clicking off the RA4 engine, HDC was required, as was HD Safe-T-Track option. HDC consisted of the 4 core radiator, matching fan shroud, and in a non A/C only high performance application engine like the RA IV, the fan was the 5 blade factory flex fan. same deal with '68 Ram Air engines, as well as the '67 Ram Air engine.

Also I noticed that they have the extra baffle under the bumper to direct more air into radiator

true, the baffle was also used on factory AC cars.
have an NOS baffle for a 70 Pontiac A body. it is boxed as 3 pieces, two curved outer edge pieces, along with the long center section. Not sure if it is a production piece, or a service part. '71's and 72's used one long L shaped dark gray plastic baffle that is nearly always broken.

It would have been nice if they would have come with the smaller air conditiong water pump pulley to circulate more coolant through the motor also

Does the heavy duty safe-t-track include the 12 bolt rear or what is it?Just a heavy duty posi case?I know the 455 1970 on up GTOs came with a 12 bolt because of the extra torque

No, 70 was the first year for the 12 bolt, 455 only. 69 had the nodular 10 bolt, 3:90 or 4:33.

Just to clarify, HDC was mandatory with RA IV not included in the price. Actually it was not directly related to the RAIV option it was mandatory with axle ratios of 3.90 or 4.33 regardless of engine or transmission choice. Also included in HDC was a set of baffles blocking the opening in the rad support for the frame rails.

HDC was also mandatory with AC but in this case was included in the price of AC, unlike HDC with 3.90 or 4.33 gears in the AC application it included a 7 blade clutching fan and modified pulley diameters to speed up the water pump.

Those were stand alone options not included or mandatory with RAIV
