Default Wood grain Dash insert

So on my 73 which has the wood grain dash there is the section on the right Side where the reardefrost switch and possibly other switche were/are

My car has no rear defrost And I have replaced my original non ac insert with a ralley gauge cluster since I converted to ralley gauges

So now I have this open hole in the dash....is there a insert to cover the hole .likethe cars that had the switches ( I have no switches ) or do I need to make something up by cutting up a damaged wood grain insert.....thanks Chris

There is a wood grain block off plate if you don't have switches.

I don't see anyone that sells it new. Maybe post it in the "parts wanted" section here on the board.

The original panel that was in the car that area is blocked off as part of the dash insert
So are they available as a stand alone block off plate like this but in the wood grain....????

I have a plate for the Correct '73 woodgrain with one factory switch hole ( the right side rear defrost/fog) '73 and '74 are all alone in the color and grain. You will not find a blank back fill panel as you see they come with a solid panel there.
PS, going to sell your old bezel? I would be interested.

Hey Formulabruce
I didn't think I had ever seen a removable block off plate in the wood grain......
Unfortunately I don't have a need for a panel with a switch cut out....
Looks like I will have to get an old insert and cut one up ...OR I have been told the Cherry oak is very close I am currently checking into 3m for some samples..and then make my own plate if need be
Norwalk is coming too...so might find a bezel there to cut....

As for my old Bezel..... for right now I'm kinda wanting to hang onto it......for now.....
thanks for trying to help.....Chris

Default DASH BEZELS

are both of the pictured dash bezels 1973?..as I do not understand...1973 is that the first year for real black bezels on the Formula and others??..what years use the test -tube tinder that rolls onto the bezels??..CNC keep looking and you will find the correct part..I would rather you use the one FORMULABRUCE has and I will send you a new defog switch to put in place till you do find the part (please do not harm any bezels)

Glenn, Finding a wrecked 73-74 bezel with correct woodgrain and cutting out, or "making" this part with a solid piece of that Bezel should be pretty easy.

yes both bezels I pictured I am to believe are 73 the car I have is/was pretty original...

I really dont want to buy a plate, borrow a switch till i get what I want
Last resort is finding a bezel and cutting..... if I was that desperate i would have cut up my mint one ...but Im not gonna do something that stupid either......Im currently looking to match something up...im frugal too....lol

Ive been driving for a year like this so its not a big deal...
Im just keeping an eye out and if something comes up it does if not...keep looking

I think I have one I can measure next week if you want. I will post pics of it when I get home. It's a solid wood grain block off plate. May be from a 71 or 72 however. Don't know how to tell the difference
