68 Convertible Body Mounts
AMES -
I bought your convertible body mount kit for my 68. I was short 2 of the through-bolt style mounts. I used 2 of the pad-style mounts on the inner firewall mount. For reference my car had the following mounts, none of which were pad-style. 2 @ core support 4 behind the front tire, at the cowel / firewall 4 between the firewall and rear axle 4 behind rear axle Thanks Sam |

Hi Sam,
That kit was built from an original 69 GTO set. We will go into the parts book and check the 1968 application. Do you need the two through style mounts? Thanks |

On my 68 conv, there were two pad style mounts above the rear axle. Are you sure the kit included the core support mounts? Thought the body kit could be ordered without core support mounts.

S384AC is w/o core support and S384AF is with core support.

Interesting, I didn't even look right above the rear axle...just along the frame rails. Did I miss 2 there? Core mounts are different from rest, I ordered separately. |

My research shows that all 68-72 convertibles used two dummy mounts above the rear axle. We send two extra because over the years we have had customers report that they had 4 dummy mounts two over the axle and two at the base of the firewall. I would check that crossmember above the rear axle.

2 above the rear axle. Completely missed those, they are well hidden.
Thanks. |
