Default 68 Endura nose conversion on 68 Tempest

I have pretty much (I believe) all the parts needed to convert from chrome to Endura (Nose, endura brackets, grills, headlight surrounds)... so I'm hoping that the actual headlight holders are the same... my question is the filler panel - I'm guessing I need to order a new from Ames?

Also: a poll. Our Tempest Custom was originally white, then it got a color change in the 1980's to black - I might do a repaint this weekend - so, whats the absolute #1 best looking color for a 68-69 GTO (clone)?

By the way, I'm letting my kids make a GTO clone, but it can never ever have a GTO emblem on it anywhere.... just saying.

headlamp mounts/brackets are diff between steel and endura bumper...the endura brackets are kinda flat and the chrome brackets have a pronounced step...wont come close to working..believe it or not..open headlamp headlight mounts are hard to get...most cars where converted to hide-aways..

yes on the filler just order a new one

i like silver or turquois

68 GTO backing plate with cut out - flatter front-to-back as mark says, but easier to identify by the step down or cut out at the top)

Lemans backing plate with "step" (upside down in picture)

Fillers were used on all A-body cars from Pontiac - Tempest, LeMans and GTO. The purpose was to direct air through radiator. With different front noses, different fillers.

Guess its just easier for me to paint the chrome bumper, til I run into headlight backers. Thought this was going to be an easy one...

Headlight backing plates, grills, grill mounts, headlight bezels, filler panel...

Good luck!

looks like with help of members (scott thelander and fatindian) I have everything I need to do this. Appreciate the help. Finally talked my kids into letting me paint the car back to the original color (68 cameo ivory white), so we'll have a nice looking run-around GTO clone with no GTO emblems (left the Tempest Custom emblems on). Doubt they will let me talk them out of replacing the 1970 YS 400 72-heads motor with a date code correct 350 4bbl though, guess I'll save that fight for another day
