Default 63 intake swap

I have a 63 lemans with a 326 single barrel intake and carb. How difficult would it be to find and replace a 4 barrel intake?

Where is a good place to start looking?

btw, my introduction with pics is still waiting for an admin approval. Going on 3 weeks now.

any 61-64 pontiac 4 bbl intake will fit.Post a want ad on this site.I think your intake and carb is a 2 bbl.You will need to also find a 58-64 AFB carb to go with it.Dont buy a aftermarket E carb.Tom

Your 326 has a 2-barrel carb and intake, don't be fooled by the single choke plate at the top.

Any 1961 -1964 factory 326/389/421 4-barrel intake and carb will work.

New to this forum and i love how much information there is on here about our cars. That being said Tom i am wondering why you said not to buy an aftermarket E carb. i am assuming you mean an Edelbrock carb? The 1963 Tempest that i bought has a 326 with a factory cast iron four barrel intake but it has an Edelbrock carb .

Thanks Dan

They usually take a lot of work to get them to drive good. They race way better than street drive.I have owned a few and have got them to be OK but never as good as a true pontiac AFB.Tom

Had a Edelbrock carb on my car when I got it. Replaced it with original type AFB. Ran better and everything fit correctly. AZMike where do you live? I have a manifold you can have for free if you live close enough to pick it up. I won't ship it.

Phoenix to New Hampshire is only a few inches on some maps.

I would not switch to 4bbl. 2bbl gives fine performance and you need the trans controls which only fit the stock manifold. It's a 52 year old car and if you're looking for performance, even most of today's 4cyl cars will be faster. The white with red interior is a classy combination. Looks like your seats have been redone, following the original pattern.
